The Taguchi Approach in Studying and Optimizing the Electro-Fenton Oxidation to Reduce Organic Contaminants in Refinery Wastewater Using Novel Electrodes

This study investigated the degradation of organic pollutants using an advanced electrochemical oxidation technique in a batch reactor cell consisting graphite anode, modified by electrodeposition PbO2, and graphene-modified carbon fiber cathode. The experiment was designed Taguchi design approach with orthogonal array L18 to optimize Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) electro-Fenton process. Four process parameters, Current Density (CD), Temperature, Fe2+ concentration, time were measured at different levels. impact each factor analyzed analysis variance (ANOVA). Furthermore, linear model applied for Signal-to-Noise (S/N) ratio mean values, obtaining optimal conditions. most significant parameter COD removal efficiency time, least one temperature.
